We’ve brought on over 10,000 new candidates since our last major update in November 2016, and got tons of feedback from job seekers like you on what works and what doesn’t work. Some of you said that the questions about education and credentials were not clearly worded. Others told us that the design was kind of boring, or didn’t work well on your mobile device. So, we made the following updates:
Text with Hiring Managers:
Texting is the best way to communicate between hiring managers and job seekers, and we’re excited to bring that to WorkAmerica. On your profile, you can now indicate that you allow employers to text job opportunities to your primary and/or alternate numbers.
Guided Profile Creation:
The first time you log in to your WorkAmerica account, you’ll walk through the profile questions in a series of screens. This helps you make sure your profile is 100% complete, and stand out to employers.
Improved Education Section:
We’ve improved how we ask about your education history and certificates/degrees, to make its easier to list all your educational accomplishments.
Separate Credentials and Licenses Section:
We separated out Credentials and Licenses, usually are issued by government or industry associations, from the certificates and degrees that you earn in school. This way employers can easily tell if you’ve pursued extra qualifications beyond your school training, and reach out to you.
Not sure what the difference is between credentials/licenses and certificates/degrees? Read our explanation.
We’re always open to feedback suggestions for what we should update or build next- let us know in the comments below.
