Jefferson State and WorkAmerica announce new partnership to help connect education to employment for CTE students and graduates
Strategic partnership formed to support job placement efforts and increase data collection and transparency around placement outcomes.
Birmingham, Alabama – Jefferson State Community College, one of Alabama’s largest community colleges serving over 12,000 students each year across 150 university transfer and career programs, and WorkAmerica, the internet tech company at the intersection of education, employment and placement outcomes, announce the launch of a new strategic partnership. The partnership will combine Jefferson State’s excellence in preparing the workforce that industry needs, with WorkAmerica’s credentials-driven job placement marketplace.
Together, Jefferson State and WorkAmerica will bring the best employment opportunities to Jefferson State students and alumni, which take full advantage of their training and credentials. Jefferson State students will be provided a personal account on WorkAmerica’s exclusive quality-assured platform, from which employers identify and recruit top talent. By capturing data on job placement outcomes correlated to program of study, certifications, prior work experience and more, this partnership will provide invaluable data on the local and regional hiring economy, allowing for closer alignment of training to industry needs and a better-prepared local workforce. Jefferson State joins over 50 campuses across the country currently on the WorkAmerica platform. Jefferson State students will be able to access and elaborate on their profiles at www.workamerica.co.
“We are pleased to form a partnership with Jefferson State, a leader in workforce preparation in critical fields such as nursing. With this partnership we also welcome our first school in the state of Alabama, and thank the whole team at Jefferson State, including Interim President Keith Brown and Dean of Career and Technical Education Norma Grant Bell for making this possible,” commented WorkAmerica CEO Michael Colonnese.
“Jefferson State is excited to be the first college in Alabama to partner with WorkAmerica,” said Jefferson State Interim President Keith Brown. “We believe our students will greatly benefit from the partnership and believe it will provide needed workforce opportunities to our community.”
